MBS School of Planning and Architecture invite you to a " MUD CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP" that will be held at MBS SPA , 18th Aug 2023 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. The workshop will be held in collaboration with STUDIO SHUNYA, an Expert in this field.

This workshop is intended as an experience workshop in earth construction with various earth techniques.

What will the participants learn:

• Different types of mud construction,
• Soil identification and testing,
• Mixing of mud, Adobe & Cob construction.
• Participants will split into groups to build walls with raw earth construction (eg. Adobe and Cob) using modern stabilized techniques (e.g. stabilized rammed earth).
• The workshop will be concluded with a site visit to a building constructed in mud and Lime.

Objectives:

• To offer hands-on experience in building walls with earth
• To impart knowledge of traditional and modern earth techniques
• To make students aware of local building materials to be used in their designs to make them ecologically sensitive.
